Brian
Hull is a leading centre in the digital and
creative sector with an interactive cable TV
service and the development of a new regional
centre for the BBC. Part of the University of
Lincoln, the Hull School of Art & Design is
building on its established national and
international profile with the development of
degree courses based around digital and new
media industries. A £2 million infrastructure
development is planned for 2003-04.
Degree courses include Animation, Digital
Interactive Television, Fine Art, Games
Design, Graphic Design, Illustration,
Interactive Multimedia, TV, Film and Web
Design.
Working directly with students, Learning
Advisers will run workshops on specific skills
and will support student learning and student
projects. Technical expertise is important but
candidates must also be able to demonstrate
empathy with students and education and be
comfortable working with students with a range
of capabilities and knowledge. The role of the
Software Technician is to install and manage a
range of state of the art software.
LEARNING ADVISER Digital & Sound Media £16,230

Key requirements
Candidates must have good knowledge and
experience of:
* field and/or studio recording
* digital audio editing
* digital sound manipulation and processing
would be an advantage
A key task will be to assist students develop
skills in basic recording and the acquisition
of sound, both in the studio and on location.
SOFTWARE TECHNICIAN £16,230 - £19,646 (Ref: AD
8035) Key requirements
Candidates must have a good knowledge and
experience of:
* installing and maintaining a range of design
and media software ranging from 3D animation
and video editing to DTP and web design.
* providing student support and teaching on
web servers, networks and streaming - using
MAC OS and Windows
* contributing to the development of the
resource as a design or art practice - or as a
research project
(It is possible that this role could form the
basis of a post graduate qualification)
LEARNING ADVISER Photography & Digital Media
£16,230 - £19,646 (Ref: AD 8024)
Key requirements
Candidates must have good knowledge and
experience of:
* generic and specialist skills in the
operation of photography studios and darkrooms
* provision of support to convention B/W and
colour exposure, development and printing;
studio lighting, medium and large formal
camera facilities
* digital photography media - creation and
maintenance of instructional and other support
materials
* maintain equipment on a fit for purpose
basis
