The School of Information and Media at the Robert Gordon University has
developed a successful undergraduate course in Corporate Communication,
and undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Publishing. It is now
launching a new Masters degree in Corporate Communication and Public
Affairs, and a new undergraduate programme in Publishing with
Journalism. To sustain this success and the development of related
research, the School wishes to appoint 2 permanent staff with relevant
expertise in the following areas:
* Corporate Communication theory and practice
* Print, Broadcast, and Online Journalism
Both posts are expected to undertake teaching across the School's
existing range of courses and contribute to further course developments.
The School is especially interested in candidates with experience in the
media forms and genres typically used in communication of information by
companies, organisations and institutions both internally and to the
public. Practical experience with the media, experience of contemporary
practice and current developments in corporate affairs, and/or of
relevant applications of new technologies would be additional
advantages.
SENIOR LECTURER/READER/PROFESSOR (Corporate Communication)
The successful applicant will have a higher degree and an established
record of research and publication in relevant areas. Research in this
area is expected to encompass the preparation, dissemination and impact
of communications that advance an organisation's goals, and the
post-holder will be expected to take a lead in developing relevant
research activities.
LECTURER ((Journalism)
The successful applicant will be a graduate with an appropriate academic
and/or professional background. A higher degree, preferably research
based, is essential.
In addition the School is seeking to fill a number of temporary and
part-time posts
