Hi everyone
a bit ago (3rd February - The Sunday Times page 7) ran an article about a
new type of urinal toilet that is going to be installed in London,
Manchester and Bristol. They are concealed in the pavement and resemble an
inspection chamber cover. However, at night after closing time for pubs (not
sure is this will occur when we move to 24 hour opening) the UriLift rises
up from under the pavement to provide urinal facilities. I thought it was a
wind up but there is a website on it at http://www.urilift.nl/index-en.html
and they seem to be serious. From an initial glance they appear to be a
complete hazard area waiting for intoxicated people to bang into them.
Anyone else heard about these devices? It is bad enough trying to find loos
that are static let alone those that disappear into the pavement!
