HI all
noticed in a recent copy of The Times (18-02-02 page 5) that they were
claiming that a cinema in Guilford the first one to install a £10,000
digital theatre system that uses infra-red signals to beam descriptive
dialogue of the visual content aspects of the film to people wearing
headphones in between the dialogue of the film. This leads me to think of a
question and not being in Guilford I cannot pop down to the cinema to find
out. The article does not say which cinema.
The first question is whether it is being used on all films, all only those
with additional sound track information, if it is the latter then how many
films are being produced with this information currently and how can we
encourage other film production units to use it?
Secondly I am surprised that there have been no previous installations of
this kind as it seems to be already established in the USA.
cheers
marcus
