I have just finished developing a signage system
to be more in line with DDA for the University of
Sheffield, my employer.
Why not consult BS 8300:2001 and also the
'Sign Design Guide' (by JMU and the Sign Design
Society) ISBN 185878 4123, available from RNIB
Customer Services.
Also contact a signmaker who is well acquainted with
the issues relating to disability.
