The DBA Design Challenge 2002
Network members are warmly invited to 'Innovation through Inclusive Design'
- the third DBA Design Challenge, on 10 December 2002. Five teams from
leading design consultancies are working with groups of expert users to
develop exciting new product and service concepts for the mainstream
market.
Coley Porter Bell: 'c'
A 'smart' clothing tag system for visually impaired people to allow them
to make informed, independent choices about colour, shade and style
that could be used for other products where colour is also important.
Kinneir Dufort: The Shopping Experience
An intelligent store, product or life guide to make the process of shopping
and locating goods and services more enjoyable, efficient and inclusive.
Pearlfisher: Temperature Regulating Clothing
A range of fashion wear for young people with physical disabilities to
enable them to stay cool or warm using a temperature-regulating material
developed by NASA.
PSD:Fitch: Making Connections
By combining wearable technology devices and information/wayfinding systems
we want to keep people mobile, safe and informed in transport termini like
Waterloo Station.
iebertHead: We'll all drink to that!
A product to allow you to drink with dignity while on the move or in a
public place and not depend on using your hands.
Join us for the event at 6.00pm when the design teams will present their
proposals. Debate their outcomes with them and stay for informal
networking at a drinks reception. Look forward to seeing you there!
Warmest regards
