HI all
received the following for an Australian site which is at the moment fairly
basic but has potential. Personally I would have preferred one site rather
than a split between text and flash versions.
marcus
www.adaptablehousing.org – new website on ADAPTABLE
HOUSING related issues now online
Is it possible that one day you might be elderly? If
so, you really can’t afford not to be aware of
Adaptable Housing!
A growing number of organisations and individuals are
acknowledging the benefits of Adaptable Housing –
utilising good design to enable a house to be adapted
as required for use by everybody, irrespective of
their age, level of mobility or condition of health.
This new site looks at what features make a house more
user-friendly, why these features are beneficial, and
current action and progress in getting these features
incorporated into Australian houses, as well as the
current Australian standards, publications, news and
links.
This is the only national site on this issue and we
are aiming to create a key central communication point
and information service for all who are interested in
creating an inclusive and welcoming residential
environment in this country.
Please note that if you or your organisation are
active in the field of Adaptable Housing, this site
welcomes all relevant contributions including:
- news items & media releases
- notification of upcoming events
- policy initiatives
- case studies
- new books/brochures
- presentations
- links to active organisations
- etc
Any contributions or comments can be emailed back to
this address ([log in to unmask]) or posted
to: GPO Box 909, Adelaide 5001
*** Please feel free to forward this email on to other
parties you feel may be interested.
*** Let me if you don’t want to receive any further
correspondence on this issue.
Regards,
Kate Treloar
