Dear List Members
I am looking for comments on my book Barrier-free design.
Over the next 6 months I am hoping to completely update the book with
revised text, new chapters and case studies.
I have had some feedback over the years and would really appreciate any
candid comments - good and bad.
I know the illustrations are a bit poor
I know that the index is extremely poor
I am looking for areas that have not been covered enough
I am looking for areas that have been covered too much.
I am hoping that the second edition will extend the basic access principles
developed into the first edition into the more difficult areas of
intellectual access, and in buildings that are not normally associated
with 'access'. e.g. theatre technical areas, museum exhibition design,
treatment of aphasia using colour, colour in health.
I also want to beef up the technical depth of some of the areas .... how to
make good flush shower floors, flat access showers on concrete sub base etc
I am also planning to do a detailed chapter on the process of auditing
buildings, measurement, assessment and report preparation.
Any comments would be extremely useful.
Thanks
James Holmes-Siedle
