Subject: RE: Expert Report on Congo-Brazzaville
Dear Sir
Thank you for your prompt reply. Our client is an asylum-seeker from
Congo-Brazzaville whose family supported the ousted President Lissouba and
he is from the Bembe tribe. The client was a member of UPADS. Following
their defeat in Brazzaville the client fled to Mouyoumzi and then to Gabon
in order to avoid Sessou's forces.
By 1998 he returned to Brazzaville as he heard that peace had returned.
However he was threatened after being recognised as a UPADS member and fled
again,
first to Pointe Noir and from there to Gabon. From Gabon, he went overland
to Cote d'Ivoire and from there to the UK via France by plane.
I hope that this is sufficient for you to decide whether or not you are able
to comment on the client's case.
Should you be unable to assist I would be very grateful if you are able to
recommend an expert on Congo-Brazzaville.
Please note that this communication does not commission the report.
Thank you
Shirin Sethna
