Call for Papers
Forced Migration Review (www.fmreview.org) is calling for papers for issue
16, African displacement: roots, resources and resolution? , due out in
January 2003.
We are looking for articles on issues such as:
- the root causes of displacement in Africa
- displacement in Angola, Burundi, DRC, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Liberia, Sierra
Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Rwanda, Uganda
- the IDP concept in Africa, promotion of the Guiding Principles on Internal
Displacement
- African humanitarian response / conflict resolution capacity building
(African Union, regional initiatives, NGOs etc)
- underfunding of humanitarian responses to African displacement crises
- refugee burden sharing in Africa; impact of long-term refugee camps
- early warning systems
- drought, environment and displacement
Maximum length of written contributions: 3,000 words. Short opinion pieces
are also welcomed. Don't worry if English is not your first language - we
are more than happy to edit contributions. Deadline October 15th.
