ESRC RESEARCH SEMINARS COMPETITION 2002-3
The Economic and Social Research Council invites applications for the
Seminars Competition of 2002-3.
Seminar Groups are multi-dimensional groups of academic researchers,
postgraduate students and non-academic users who meet regularly (usually at
least three times each year) to exchange information and ideas with the aim
of advancing research within their fields.
The ESRC places special emphasis on meeting the needs of the users of its
research and, where appropriate, these users should be drawn from industry,
Government Departments and other relevant organisations to participate in
seminar group meetings.
Funding is available for UK HEI's and Independent Research Institutes
(approved by the ESRC) to undertake these research seminars. For this year's
competition, the ESRC will make approximately 40 awards of up to £15,000
each for a maximum period of two years.
Of the 88 applications received under the competition, 36 awards were made,
which represents a success rate of 41%.
The closing date for applications is Friday 10th January
