Greetings,
I'm grappling with DPA and wondered how other people are coping. The dance company archives we are processing at the moment deal solely with living people, but a file might contain only a page or two of DPA-sensitive material. I'm wavering between closing the whole file, which means a large chunk of the collection will be closed for a long time, and removing the offending items to a separate, closed file - which will mean more work for me.
I'm also coming across grey areas, such as unsuccessful applications for funding in which budgets list fees to the 'choreographer', 'designer', 'composer', etc., not actual names. If you know the company, you can figure out who would have received the commission had the application been successful, and you could then suppose that these fees were probably what they received on successful applications. So is the unsuccessful application DPA-sensitive?
Many thanks,
Chris Jones
