The Borthwick Institute has a vacancy for an archive assistant, as
follows:
Applicants are sought for the post of archive assistant at one of the
largest and most important
archive repositories in the north of England.
Duties include working in busy public searchrooms, answering enquiries
from novice enquirers
and experienced academics; locating and retrieving documents in the
strongrooms; and
administrative work.
You should be educated to at least A-level standard and be computer
literate, enthusiastic,
have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability
to fit into a small team.
This post offers the successful applicant the opportunity to work in a
well-established organisation
during an exciting and formative period of change following on from a
Heritage
Lottery Fund award of £4.4 million to fund a new archive building on the
University campus.
Salary will be in the range £12,997 - £15,053 per annum.
