Thanks for the clarification. As I said I only saw part of the programme so
it is nice to know that the Archivist's work involved more than shoes. I
must have missed heard over the art part.
I am sure that we all have a range of material to look after and I did not
intend to give offence to the work done by our archive colleagues working in
the museums and galleries world but my main concern was that the core of any
archive collection should be original documents and that, this fact should
be emphasized at all times. Otherwise the continuing confusion over what we
do will never be clarified.
