(This full-time permanent post is a secondment to Cheshire and Chester
Archives and Local Studies)
Chester City Council and Cheshire County Council have
established a joint archive service for the City and County, based at the
County Council's Record Office in Duke Street, Chester.
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Archivist, who
can contribute to a full range of Record Office activities, including
accessioning and cataloguing, public service delivery and outreach and
educational activities.
The successful candidate will be seconded to the County
Council and will work as part of the County's Archives and Local Studies
Team.
We require a professionally qualified archivist (with a
Diploma/MA in Archive Management), who has a good grasp of IT applications
and an enthusiasm for working with the public.
Whilst remaining an employee of the City Council, the
successful candidate will be responsible to the Senior Archivist, Cheshire
County Council, for all service delivery issues.
