East Sussex Record Office is looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic person to fill the post
of Research Assistant. The Research Assistant provides a self-financing postal research service for
members of the public using records held at East Sussex Record Office. The main customers are
family historians but we are actively looking to extend the client base to other areas such as house
history.
You will have proven experience in family history and local history research at local record
offices, good palaeographical skills and preferably a knowledge of Latin. The ability to use a word
processing package (preferably MS Word) is also important.
