Hello
Victoria University of Wellington is looking at the financial and practical implications of setting up a sustainable Archives service at the University, and the underlying policy requirements. We are interested in looking at the situation in similar institutions overseas.
We are a publicly funded university established in 1899 with about 16,000 students, teaching from undergraduate to PhD in a full range of disciplines, with a central campus.
I would be very keen to hear from anyone, off list, who has been involved in similar projects or who is currently working with University archives. I am particularly interested in the processes that were undertaken to establish Archives at Universities and, if possible, looking at reports etc. that were put to Council or Senior Management, as well as collection policies and retention and disposal schedules in place, and annual reports of the university archives, if they exist.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Helen Quaggin
