Dear All,
Archives Awareness Campaign 2003
The NCA's plans for the first ever annual archives awareness
campaign, which will take place in the summer of 2003, are now being firmed
up.
Following a recent and very useful brainstorming session, the theme
for the first year of the campaign will be the opening up of archives to the
general public and raising public awareness of the sheer wealth of treasures
that archives hold, whether this be locally, regionally or nationally.
Over the next few months we will be sending out information about
the format and structure of the campaign, including details of how the NCA
will be supporting the campaign through the production of toolkits, national
publicity, websites and some central co-ordination and funding.
Meanwhile we would warmly welcome any ideas you may have for an
inspirational title for the 2003 campaign, encapsulating the idea of
opening up our wealth of treasures to new audiences. We already have some
good ideas from the brainstorming session but would very much like to
receive some more.
