Could I please bring this to your attention; it would suit anyone looking
for pre-course experience, with a particular interest in records management.
Oxfordshire Record Office: Records Management Unit
Temporary Records Clerks (Local Govt Scale 3: £12,618 pro rata for 10
months; pay award pending) - 2 posts
Oxfordshire Record Office Records Management Unit has just installed
CALM2000RM, and is now seeking to transfer its existing hard copy finding
aids on to the system. In addition, a backlog of material for cataloguing
has built up during the installation period and must now be dealt with as
quickly as possible.
We are seeking two temporary records clerks to assist with this. The posts
would suit recent graduates who are seeking to gain experience in a record
office before postgraduate archive training, and who have a particular
interest in records management. Oxfordshire is investigating the creation of
a global information management strategy to meet Government directives and
the requirements of legislation such as Data Protection and Freedom of
Information; the postholders would have an excellent opportunity to watch
this development in action and gain a practical insight into the methodology
and issues involved.
Application packs and forms can be obtained from the Administrator, Cultural
Services, Museums & Heritage, Fletcher's House, Park Street, Woodstock, Oxon
