Journal of the Society of Archivists
Joint Editor
A new editor is required for the Editorial Team of the Journal of the
Society of Archivists, with the retirement of Pearl Romans from the team.
S/he will work closely with myself on collating the articles section of the
JSA, in due course becoming principal editor for this section. The suggested
tenure of the principal editor posts is 3 years.
The tasks required include commissioning and receiving articles, handling
the refereeing of articles, copy-editing and proof-reading, and assisting in
the establishment of policy. Reviews for the JSA are collated by Kate
Manning (principal editor) and Susan Corrigall.
The position offers the opportunity to be closely involved with professional
developments and to establish contacts on a national and international
scale. Expenses are paid, and a funded place may be available for the
Society of Archivists' Conference/CTC.
Applicants should demonstrate good communication and organisational skills,
and a broad interest in professional developments. Previous experience of
publishing or editing would be an advantage.
To discuss the position, please contact me, tel 01227-865330, email
[log in to unmask] (I am on leave 8th-18th August
inclusive.) Letters of application with a CV should be sent to myself at
Canterbury Cathedral Archives, The Precincts, Canterbury CT1 2EH, to arrive
by 23 August. Interviews will probably be held on 16 September, in London.
