I've got a bit of an obscure Friday afternoon request for help please.
Relatives in the New World have a terracotta Tuscan Jar that was used to
store and transport olive oil from Italy to merchants who retailed to the
old British empire a couple of hundred years ago. (They think.) The urn
is marked with the initials 'N B' and has an anchor in between the
initials. They believe these were the initials of the maker or shipper and
would like to find out more.
Does anyone know where I might be able to find out this info in the UK or
does anyone know a friendly information specialist in Italy who might be
able to help?
Grazie!
