Are they interested in seeing the glass-plate negatives because they've never seen them? or is there some other reason?
If it is just shear curiosity I would have one on display in a case.
If it is to see the detail present within the negatives, you might consider scanning the negatives and storing them on line for viewing purposes
IMHO these negatives should be handled as little as possible so as to decrease the opportunity for damage/breakage. This is from my experience with a glass-plate negative collection at my first position. We, the staff, rarely if ever handled the negatives once we had prints pulled from them and copy negatives made. The prints were used for study purposes and the copy negatives were used to make prints for patrons.
