Hi list,
the quick answer is (as always):
Cool....Dry....Dark....
Special care should be taken with anything stored in 'plastic' cases
some of which slowly degrade giving off gases which attack the tapes.
Archive quality boxes are available for most media....but I don't have
the suppliers name immediately to hand....if useful to list, I will try
and find it.
You might find the PRESTO site of use at:
http://presto.joanneum.ac.at/
and two very good papers at:
http://presto.joanneum.ac.at/Public/D31.pdf
http://presto.joanneum.ac.at/Public/D32.pdf
Sorry PRESTO is Preservation Technologies for European Broadcast
Archives.....but I am sure you had worked that one out...<G>
cheers
eib
