PROJECT ARCHIVIST
Starting salary likely to be in the region of £19,000 pa.
Fixed term appointment for a maximum of 1 year due to funding.
To play a key role in the development of the National Gallery’s ongoing
records management programme, in conjunction with the Archivist and
Assistant Archivist. You will be concerned with the development of the
Gallery-wide records survey, the creation of retention schedules and the
appraisal of transferred records.
You must have a recognised MA/Diploma in Archives Administration/ Records
Management, or equivalent records management experience. Professional
records management experience is essential. You should also be
enthusiastic, adaptable and have an awareness of current issues in archive
management and electronic records management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required. The
ability to learn quickly and to work to agreed deadlines is important.
Attention to detail, a methodical approach and accuracy are all key
qualities.
The job is an excellent opportunity for a professional archivist or records
manager or a small team to deliver an important records management project
in a major national institution.
