Dear all
Want to spend the summer in London? Want to work in a high-camp gothic
building? Want to brush up your knowledge of European cucumber directives?
If so, we can help you!
We have a short-term placement for someone to work on the records of the
House of Commons' European Scrutiny Committee. Since the 1970s this select
committee has considered every piece of European legislation in order to
advise Parliament about the likely impact on UK law. The committee reports
its findings on a regular basis and we now have a large run of case files
which require sorting and (re)listing for inclusion in our online catalogue.
The work is likely to take around three months to complete (start date by
mutual agreement), and we are offering an hourly rate of £8.65 to anyone
interested (approx £18,000 pro rata), to be paid through a temp agency. It
would be highly suitable for a graduate who has just left archive school.
We are also willing to consider applications from someone who would like to
work part-time into the autumn, or from two people who would like to work
for six weeks on this project. In return we can offer a subsidised
restarant, access to a health and fitness centre and a spectacular working
environment.
Due to the casual nature of this work, this job will not be advertised in
the ARC job supplement. Anyone who would like to contact me for more
details is most welcome to do so.
Thanks
Caroline
