Salary scale: £18,000 - £20,000 pa pro rata
The Council for World Mission (CWM) is an international partnership of 31
Christian denominations worldwide, with a common commitment to God's
mission. CWM exists as a forum for mutual support, an exchange of views,
ideas and people, and as a pool of financial resources. CWM is a successor
organisation to the London Missionary Society (LMS), which was founded in
1795. The archives of the CWM/LMS are held at the School of Oriental and
African Studies, University of London.
We are looking for a versatile and enthusiastic individual to develop and
implement a programme of records management at the Council for World
Mission's secretariat in Westminster. You will be expected to undertake a
survey of current and semi-current records, develop retention schedules, and
assist the staff in the initial implementation of the programme. You will be
supervised by a member of the senior management team at CWM and the
Assistant Archivist responsible for the CWM/LMS archive at SOAS.
You will have a recognised post-graduate qualification in archives or
records management and preferably one year's experience of working in a
relevant position with current records. However, graduates from a
professional course will be considered and are encouraged to apply. A first
class communicator, you will be able to offer records management support to
a wide range of staff. You will be IT literate, enjoy working independently
and as part of a team and be able to work to deadlines.
