I would suggest that these are still valuable, even though now not the
point of first recourse. In particular, the on-line catalogue for the
items in the old Lists (e.g. Rentals & Surveys) does not by any means
include all the information in these lists, e.g. places listed in parts
of a volume.

Does anyone have a view as to how essential these are to researchers

days? We have great rows of them in our searchroom and I supect that
they're
little used. I'm not planning to chuck them out, but if anyone could
indicate how useful a tool they are it would be appreciated. For
instance
are they being superceded by the PRO's online catalogues?
