I have just got back from an Instant Library / BSI event on
Scanning/Archiving, Legal Admissibility of Electronic Records, Data
Protection and Information Security Management. During one of the
intervals I got talking to some people from one of Instant Library's
associated companies (Scan-It) who say that they are able to scan
large plans and drawings and apparently have secure storage
facilities.
I can't give more details at the moment as all the info is at work and
I'm writing this from home, but I was told that contact details are
available on the Instant Library website (www.instant-library.com if
memory serves right).
Hope this helps

Subject: Scanning Plans and Drawings: Out-sourcing
I wonder whether anyone has any information on commercial firms able
to
provide digital images of fairly large-scale plans and drawings (A2,
A1)?
Obviously we are only interested in those firms use to dealing with
archival
material and can provide secure storage.
I would be grateful for contact details and/or examples of successful
projects. Indeed, if there is an archive with the equipment that may
be
able to offer their services, again I would be keen to know.
Many thanks,
