The following TWO posts will shortly be available in the Archives & Special Collections section of the University of
Hull's Brynmor Jones Library. I should be grateful if

might be interested.

Post Title: Archives Assistants - reference SV109
*************************************************
Both posts would suit graduates from relevant disciplines,
such as history, English or politics, with an interest in
obtaining job experience prior to applying to archives
school.
The post-holders will be involved in a wide range of
duties, including reading room supervision, document
delivery, data inputting, enquiries, and basic listing and
indexing.
The collections held are extremely varied, having
been collected by the University since its
foundation in 1928. They include: business archives, landed
family and estate records, modern political papers,
pressure group records, and modern English literary

Both posts are available for a fixed term period of 1 year:
one is available from 1 July 2002 and the other from 1
September 2002.
Salary is on the University's clerical grade 1/2.
