I would agree with Nigel's comments. We do need a wider debate on the role
of the Society. If its aim is to serve its members, and a number of those
members wish to discuss issues using something like the NRA list, is it not
up to the SoA to do something about it?
I for one am happy that the NRA list is used for meaningful debate. Shows
archivists have brains and principles. I don't think we should shy away
from controversial topics either - is that a slight whiff of censorship in
the air?
