I have just had a collection of records from swimming pools and leisure
centres dumped on me, as they are now run by a Trust and are refusing to
keep the older records.
Most of it is financial and the retention for that is straightforward. The
rest consists of log books and safety check registers. I can find a
retention for registers of water samples through our environmental health
retention schedule, but I'm not so sure about logs for checking the safety
of fire extinguishers etc. The daily log also records any incidents as well
as which staff were on duty. My initial feeling is that these need only be
kept for a couple of years, as any serious incidents are separtely recorded
through incident reports. HAs anyone got any suggestions?
