Assistant Archivist
National Cataloguing Unit for the Archives of Contemporary Scientists
Description:
The NCUACS is a specialised unit for the locating and
cataloguing of the archives of contemporary British scientists and
engineers. It works in association with the Royal Society and is based in
the Library of the University of Bath. The Unit always has a number of
interesting projects in hand, encompassing a wide range of disciplines
from civil engineering to plant ecology, including Nobel laureates,
refugee scientists and pioneering women scientists. It is involved in
national programmes relating to electronic access to archives (including
A2A and the HE Archives Hub) and the promotion of scientific archives
nationally and internationally. We are now looking for an Archivist to
assist with a number of cataloguing and access projects. Applicants
should have a good honours degree, with an appropriate archive qualification.
An interest in current ICT developments and experience of CALM 2000 would
be an advantage. The post will be offered for one year in the first instance.

Salary:
In the range £18,265 - £20,311 per annum
