Norfolk Record Office:
Archive Specialist (Norfolk Heritage Centre, Millennium Library, Norwich).
£13,764-17,265 per annum
Based in the new Millennium Library in Norwich, you will play a key role in
providing, maintaining and developing a specialist reference service, based
on surrogate archival material from the Norfolk Record Office. The Heritage
Centre holds the Norfolk Studies Library collections, together with
electronic and microform copies of frequently used records from the Norfolk
Record Office, and is the Record Office's main service point in this city
centre location.
In conjunction with colleagues from the Library Service, you will
participate in the supervision and efficient running of the Heritage
Centre, including production of surrogates and giving advice to users on
appropriate source materials. Reporting to the County Archivist, you will
also maintain an effective link between the Norfolk Heritage Centre and the
Norfolk Record Office, including advising and giving information to the
public about the holdings of the Record Office, and functioning as the
principal point of direct professional contact between the Heritage Centre
and the Record Office.

work closely with colleagues from a libraries background in providing a
first-class, joined-up information service to the public within a
prestigious, ultra-modern library, with excellent facilities.

Archivist - Stratford Project
King's Lynn

Based at King’s Lynn, this vacancy for a qualified archivist is funded by
the Audrey Muriel Stratford Charitable Trust. The project's main focus is
the cataloguing of a collection of 20th-century personal and family papers
which is quite exceptional in its completeness over an extended period of
years. There may also be opportunities to develop and participate in other
archive-related project work for the Trust. You will also assist in the
administration of the King's Lynn Borough Archives, a service provided by
the Norfolk Record Office in partnership with the Borough Council of King's
Lynn and West Norfolk.
You will be a graduate with a postgraduate qualification in archives and
the ability to plan and organise your own work. Professional support and
training will be given by the Norfolk Record Office.
