Does anyone recall "Funeral in Berlin" starring Michael Caine. I think the
the man from British Secret service Records Dept was a double agent who
gets clocked at the Berlin wall by Karl Wilhelm Brandt a Nazi on the run
he was trying to blackmail. Very nasty.

I remember reading Fatherland by Robert Harris which featured the use of
archives quite heavily. I'll see if I can find out more for next week.

In the credits to the first Lord of the Rings film "The Fellowship of the
Ring", a character is identified as "Gondorian archivist" who presumably is
the wizened little man armed with flaming torch who shows Gandalf where the
scrolls are stored by which he identifies the Ring.
A suitably effacing, none speaking role.
I've done my credibility no good at all with that one.

Hi,
There were also of course the Jedi archives in Episode 2 of Star Wars...so
what if they did manage to loose a planet from their records -probably
poor document control starting with minimal appraisal procedures but that's
another story and, hey, at least we made the movie!!
