Do you want to work with the wider library and information community and
gain experience of collaborative activities in the library, museum and
archive domains?
The Co-operation and Partnership Programme promotes British Library services
and collections to the UK library and information network and seeks to
deliver them to as wide an audience as possible through developing
partnerships with the public library sector and regional agencies and with
strategic, professional and funding bodies.
We are seeking a project officer to administer our funding programme,
including jointly sponsored projects and grant schemes managed on behalf of
other agencies such as the Laser Foundation and The National Manuscripts
Conservation Trust. The main duties of the postholder will include providing
advice on sources of funding, answering a wide range of enquiries, preparing
publicity, processing applications, acting as secretariat for awards
meetings or tender boards and monitoring projects.
Experience and skills required
Candidates will be graduates, preferably with a professional library or
archives qualification. An interest in preservation and conservation is
desirable.
The postholder will have a good command of written and spoken English,
excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate their ability to
work with professionals at all levels. The ability to be flexible, work to
tight deadlines and with minimum supervision will also be essential. Good
ICT skills are a requirement.
