Greetings:
I'm a new subscriber to the listserv and was unable to find an appropriate
FAQ.
My organisation is the major personnel psychology research arm for the
Canadian Armed Forces. Like most organisations, we have adopted MSWord
(sigh!)--we use Word 97. We are trying to locate a type-font for our
research papers that will allow us to incorporate statistical symbols into
our papers. We know about the insert symbol function, but some symbols are
just not available in the standard MSWord package: as a jury-rig system for
example, we have had to adopt conventions such as X for the mean, etc and we
would rather not do that.
I would appreciate receiving any information about:
a. a dedicated statistical type-font capable of doing the kind of work
we need;
b. a way of constructing such symbols in MS Word; or
c. information about a listserv where I can post a suitable question.
(I have not found Microsoft to be a terribly useful connection for
information.)
Naturally, I will share whatever information I receive.
Thanks for whatever assistance anyone can offer.
