ongoing position - we are trying to appoint someone who will stay will us

statistician to build a career in biomedical research.
The salary range will depend on qualifications (eg honours or PhD graduate)
but are basically the same as the University of Melbourne, with the added
advantages of royalty distributions and tax effective salary packing.

THE WALTER AND ELIZA HALL INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL RESEARCH
STATISTICAL CONSULTANT
The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute is Australia's leading biomedical
research institute, with a strong history of significant discoveries of
clinical importance.
We are seeking a statistical consultant to join the bioinformatics group
(http://www.wehi.edu.au/bioweb), which is part of the Genetics and
Bioinformatics Division. The appointee will provide statistical advice and
support for biomedical researchers at the Institute. Projects are likely
to involve a range of biostatistical topics, including microarray data
analysis and statistical genetics.
The successful applicant will have an honours degree or equivalent, with
experience in statistical consulting, statistical computing and data
analysis. Applicants with higher degrees are also encouraged to
apply. Knowledge of medical biology or consulting in a biomedical context
would be an advantage, as would knowledge of S-Plus or R software.
