Statistician required - Trinity College Dublin
Applications are invited for a position as a statistical researcher in
the Small Area Health Research Unit in the Department of Community
Health & General Practice at the Trinity College Centre for Health
Sciences in Dublin. Suitable candidates should have (or expect to
shortly acquire) an MSc or PhD in Statistics. Experience in
health-related statistics would be desirable, though not essential. The
appointment is for 1 year in the first instance, but likely to be
extended for at least one further year. The position is available
immediately.
The Department of Community Health & General Practice
(http://www.tcd.ie/Community_Health/Index.html) comprises a
multidisciplinary team of staff and researchers pursuing a strong
teaching and research agenda embracing primary care, epidemiology,
public health, biostatistics and health GIS at national and
international levels. The candidate will work as a member of a small and
enthusiastic team with a challenging brief to investigate inequalities
in health services delivery and health outcomes on the island of Ireland
and, as partners in an EU-funded project, across a number of European
countries. Stochastic simulation and spatial modelling of health and
disease states form a core part of our research agenda.
