Coventry University, School of Mathematical and Information Sciences
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Quantitative Methods and IT
£19,575 - £26,688 / £25,794 - £32,910 per annum
The Statistics and Operational Research Group (SORG) at Coventry University
is a highly committed team who are looking to support and encourage a new
member. SORG recently achieved a score of 3a in the recent RAE and you
would be expected to produce relevant subject or pedagogic research outputs.
The group's research currently includes data mining, data management,
applied quantitative methods, or applied operational research and applicants
with particular interests in these areas would be welcome. A significant
proportion of the post will involve service teaching.
You will be required to communicate effectively with non-specialist students
and teach standard business software confidently and proficiently. You
should hold a higher degree in a relevant discipline - a PhD is desirable.
You should possess excellent interpersonal skills to work as a team with
colleagues, specialist and service students and external contacts. Applied
experience would be an advantage as would experience of teaching in higher
education. The ability to undertake training or consultancy for external
organisations would also be advantageous.
For an informal discussion please contact Professor Brian Lehaney, Head of
Statistics and Operational Research on 024 7688 8567 or email
