SENIOR RESEARCH OFFICER (Analysis and Comparison of Microwave and Radar Data
in the context of rainfall measurement)

Applications are invited for the above post to join (as soon as possible) a
research project funded by the European Union to investigate the
effectiveness of a new method for rain measurement. The project involves
partners in Denmark, Germany and Italy and the appointee will be
particularly concerned with the German data. Candidates should be graduates
of mathematics, statistics, computer science or electronic engineering with
a degree of Bachelor or Master preferably at the first class/distinction
level. Possession of a PhD would be an advantage. Good programming skills
are essential.
The appointment will be until 31 January 2004 and the starting salary will
be in the range £17,626 - £21,503 per annum on the Grade 1A scale for

This job is for 19 months in the first instance. However, the PRSG has an
excellent track record for securing research grants and we would expect that
