Glasgow RSS Local Group Meeting
Paul Boyle (University of St Andrews )
"Scottish Longitudinal Study"
Synopsis: This talk will introduce the Scottish Longitudinal Study (SLS)
which is currently under construction. Similar to the Longitudinal Study
(LS), which has been running for 30 years in England and Wales, the SLS will
link Census, vital statistics and cancer records for a sample of the
Scottish population. In addition, however, we hope that this dataset will
include extra information not available in the LS. Examples of research
conducted using the LS will be provided, to show some of the potential
research that is feasible with a longitudinal dataset of this type.
Date & Time: Thursday 30th May at 6:00 pm
Place: Room 203 Mathematics Building, University of Glasgow, 15 University
Gardens, Glasgow
Refreshments: There will be tea and biscuits served in the Common Room from
5:30 pm.
