University of Aberdeen - Two PhD Studentships Available
HEALTH AND HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH
INSTITUTE OF APPLIED HEALTH SCIENCES
The following studentships are available within the Faculty of Medicine &
Medical Sciences:
The PhD studentships detailed below are for 3 years and consist of funding
of tuition fees rates (at the UK/EU student rate and payment of an annual
stipend, which is pegged to current MRC rates (currently £10,000 per annum).

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for two PhD studentships
in the Institute of Applied Health Sciences. Each includes three-year
funding of a full fee bursary. The MRC and the Faculty of Medicine and
Medical Sciences are funding one studentship each, both starting September
2002. Applicants should have a good Honours or Masters degree in a relevant
discipline and should have a research interest in a topic relevant to the
Institute's research theme ( http://w3.abdn.ac.uk/iahs/). The Institute of
Applied Health Sciences covers research into a wide-range of topics in areas
such as: General Practice & Primary Care, MEDICAL STATISTICS, Mental Health,
Maternal & Child Health, Public Health & Epidemiology, Health Services
Research, Health Economics, Care of the Elderly, and Environmental &
Occupational Medicine.The Institute's strategy is based on the application
of epidemiology, health services research and health economics to the
clinical topic areas of mental health, primary care, renal disease,
cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease and reproductive health.
