MRC PhD STUDENTSHIP IN STATISTICAL GENETICS
An MRC-funded PhD studentship is available for three years starting as
soon as practicable, within the new Statistical Genetics group at
Imperial College. There is considerable flexibility in the choice of
research topic. Current research interests of the group involve
statistical methods for disease-gene mapping, pharmacogenomics, and
human population genetics. Some possible projects involve
collaboration with researchers at the Imperial College Genomics and
Genetics Research Institute or at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human
Genetics, Oxford
The studentship covers tuition fees and attracts a tax-free living
allowance of approximately 14,500 pounds per annum for UK residents
(fees only for other EU residents). Applicants should have a good
first degree in statistics, mathematics, or computer science, or a
biomedical science with a strong quantitative content. An MSc in a
relevant discipline would be an advantage.
