(negotiable for exceptional candidates)
The Medical Research Council's Clinical Trials Unit (based in Central
London) is undertaking a major multicentre clinical trial to assess the
long-term risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for
post menopausal women. Trial nurses in general practices throughout
the UK, Australia and New Zealand will be monitoring and reporting on
over 22,000 women for the next ten years.
Data are downloaded electronically to our database for statistical analysis,
so now we need a talented individual with at least some programming or
analysis experience to process and manage the data. Working closely
with our statisticians and programmers, you will play a key role in
designing, implementing and supporting the necessary systems,
including our own clinical trials management and reporting software. This is
a superb opportunity to build your technical expertise in electronic data
capture and the clinical trials field, whilst working on a programme of
real importance to the medical community worldwide.
You should have:
* experience of data manipulation and programming or information
analysis
* a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
