Senior Statistician/Deputy Director
Applications are invited for the above position to lead and build a
statistics team within the Cancer Research UK Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) and
to undertake senior managerial responsibility as Deputy Director of the CTC.
The post-holder will collaborate with other statisticians and researchers
involved in cancer research at UCL, including the MRC Clinical Trials Unit.
The post which is funded by Cancer Research UK is within the Department of
Oncology of the Royal Free and University College School of Medicine, UCL
and based in the CTC, which is co-located with the MRC Clinical Trials Unit
at the MRC Centre, UCL. The CTC is responsible for the design, conduct and
analysis of randomised phase III trials as well as earlier clinical trials
(phase II) in many different cancer
types. The trials are conducted in collaboration with clinicians and
scientists at UCL and other institutions. UCL has recently been designated
one of the National Centres for Translational Cancer Research.
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years experience in medical statistics
and be familiar with the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials.
Salary: £34,158-38,603 excluding London Weighting. The post is available
immediately and funding is subject to renewal of the programme grant of the
CTC which is due in October 2004.
