Research fellow in mathematical/computer modelling of infectious
diseases
We are seeking to recruit a productive and enthusiastic individual to
join an active research group working on the application of mathematical
modelling approaches to interpret molecular data on the transmission of
M tuberculosis. This is an exciting opportunity to combine research on
an important disease with solving analytical and
intellectually-stimulating problems. The London School of Hygiene &
Tropical Medicine is world famous for research, teaching and service in
public health and tropical medicine and is Britain's national school of
public health.
Successful applicants will be numerate and computer-literate graduates
in mathematics or a science subject with significant amount of
mathematical content. Computer programmers and individuals with
suitable experience who are either about to graduate or who have
recently graduated are also invited to apply. Experience of using Excel
is essential; C (or other) programming experience is highly desirable.
The post may also suitable for graduates wishing to have a gap year
before undertaking further studies or other employment.
