VACANCIES IN THE HERTFORDSHIRE HEALTH INFORMATICS SERVICE (HHIS)
Senior Information Analysts (2) ( £24,000 - £29,000 )
The Hertfordshire Health Informatics Service (HHIS) provides IM&T support to
the Hertfordshire Health Authority, the 8 Primary Care Trusts of
Hertfordshire, and the Hertfordshire Partnership Trust (this provides Mental
Health and Learning Disabilities for the whole of Hertfordshire).
The Information Analysis Team (12 posts) is responsible for providing
information to these customers. We are looking to improve both data quality
and the use of information, along with the use of latest technology to
improve decision-making in the NHS in Hertfordshire. We are developing a
data repository using Business Objects to give our clients web-based access
to reports and information. Our aim is to use web-based applications for
dissemination of information wherever possible.
Senior Information Analysts are each required to manage 2 information
analysts. You will be required to work with our customer organisations to
enhance their use of information and to build productive relationships with
them to support their future development. The more specific requirements for
each post are as follows:
1. Senior Information Analyst (HPT) (Ref: SIA(HPT) )
This post leads the team responsible for satisfying the information needs of
both the Hertfordshire Partnership Trust and 2 PCTs. You will need to have
an appreciation of the Mental Health Information Strategy to support the NSF
as well as the wider Information for Health Strategy. You will work closely
with senior executives and clinicians within the HPT and partner agencies
and develop, implement and review information systems including services
management - both patient services and administrative - and Performance
Management in general
2. Senior Information Analyst (HA) (Ref: SIA (SHA) )
This post leads the team responsible for satisfying the information needs of
the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Health Authority and 2 PCTs. For this post
you will need experience in the information needs and reporting requirements
of a Health Authority, including monitoring and reporting on national
targets, SaFF returns, waiting list analyses etc. You will need to have an
appreciation of the Information for Health Strategy to support PCTs &
Trusts. You will work closely with senior executives within the HA and
partner agencies and develop, implement and review information systems
relating to PCT services management and Performance Management in general.
You will need to attend both HA and regional meetings on behalf of the
Health Authority.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the health information
systems required to support several NHS organizations.
Salary will depend on skills and experience
Full Time 37 hours/week
Based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
You will need to have a degree with statistics as a component of your
course.
Knowledge of NHS information systems is essential.
You will need to be able to manage a small team, and be able to complete
tasks to specified deadlines.
