Nursing Research Initiative For Scotland
Glasgow Caledonian University
Research Fellow (Fixed Term for a period of 2 years)
£24,193 - £32,215 Post No. T097R
The Nursing Research Initiative for Scotland (NRIS) is a research unit
funded by the Chief Scientist Office, Scottish Executive. NRIS carries out
direct patient care research and, as a reflection of this broad research
remit,
a wide variety of professionals participate and collaborate in the Unit's
research. The newly established Practitioner Interventions Programme will
provide rigorous
research evidence relating to the effectiveness of fundamental
interventions carried out by nurses, PAMs and midwives. It will focus
on interventions that impact on the general health and well being
of patients with cancer and urogenital problems.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong health services researcher
to take a leading role within the programme. You will work with the
Programme Leader developing and securing funding for a range
of projects, including multi-centred trials and systematic reviews.
Your duties will include networking with clinical collaborators, writing
research proposals, managing projects and supervising research
assistants. Ideally, you will have experience in co-ordinating and carrying
out health services research, in particular multi-centred randomised
controlled trials. Knowledge of either of the clinical areas mentioned
would be of benefit, but a clinical qualification is not a necessity.
For informal enquiries, please contact Suzanne Hagen, Programme
Leader on 0141 331 8104.
