Applications are invited for the position of research
assistant/associate in medical statistics within the
Department of Social Medicine. The post is for three years
and the successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary
team analysing data from a large longitudinal study
investigating the causes and natural history of
cardiovascular disease and its complications.
Applicants should have a good first degree, with a relevant
postgraduate qualification, preferably (but not
necessarily) at PhD level. Experience in analysing and
publishing studies in the field of aetiological
epidemiology would be an advantage, as would experience in
the analysis of large databases and longitudinal studies.
The ability to work unsupervised as well as in
collaboration with other members of a team is essential.
Salary is on the Research and Analogous Staff Scale (RA1A
point 9 up to £22,299) and this post is available
immediately. Starting point and grade will be dependent on
age, qualifications and experience. Applicants are invited
