A Research Associate is required to work with Dr Mark Elliot on a new
project investigating the statistical disclosure risk associated with the
much-heralded release of the neighbourhood statistics by the Office of
National Statistics. This is a high profile project involving quantitative
risk assessment and development of prototype risk assessment software.
The post would suit an applicant with a Masters or PhD in Applied
Statistics, Software Development or in a Social Science Discipline with a
strong computing/statistics element. Applicants without a postgraduate
qualification but with suitable skills and/or experience are also
encouraged to apply.
The post represents an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding, cutting
edge research unit (5* RAE rating) and to work with one of the foremost
academics within a crucial field at the interface of research and policy.
Starting salary is on the RA1A scale up to scale point 9. The post would
be for 18 months in the first instance, to start as soon as possible.
